- helping to ensure trained craftspeople are available to conserve heritage buildings;
then the Templar Heritage Trust has been founded with you in mind.
The Templar Heritage Trust operated as part of the Charities Aid Foundation (registered charity number: 268369) from 2007 to 2023.
On 6 March 2023, the Templar Heritage Trust was registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales as a Foundation Charity Incorporated Organisation (CIO) under charity number: 1202183.
The charitable objects of the Templar Heritage Trust CIO are:
(1) To advance the education of the public by providing:
(a) grants for and assistance with historical and archaeological research into the Templars, the Crusades, monastic and chivalric orders, and associated subjects; and
(b) information (including without limitation lectures, information boards, literature, and website information) about the matters described in (a) above;
(2) To advance the education of the public by providing grants for the training in the crafts of historic building restoration or conservation, primarily for the benefit of young, unemployed, or disadvantaged persons or persons who would not otherwise be able to afford such training.
