Academic Research Grants and Bursaries
Leeds International Medieval Congress – THT Annual Bursary Programme
Drawing medievalists from over 60 countries, with more than 2,000 individual papers as well as public concerts, performances, excursions, bookfairs and more, the International Medieval Congress (IMC), hosted by the University of Leeds each year, is Europe’s largest forum for sharing ideas in medieval studies.

The Templar Heritage Trust currently provides funding for 3 THT Bursaries of £ 300 each year to assist graduate students and early career academics to attend and present research papers on topics associated with the Knights Templar and their period of history.

Historic Building Conservation Training Grants and Bursaries
Worcester Cathedral Apprenticeships – THT Degree Course Grant Programme With over 900 years of historical stonework to look after, Worcester Cathedral is one of only eleven cathedrals in the country to have its own dedicated Stonemasonry Workshop and Stonemasonry Team. The Cathedral’s traditionally-based Apprenticeships can take 5 years to complete and include in-house training, working and learning with the team on-site, and study time to gain stonemasonry qualifications. The Templar Heritage Trust has agreed to provide 2 grants of £450 each to assist with the first-year tuition fees of Worcester Cathedral’s current intake of 2 apprentice stonemasons once they are accepted onto the Cathedrals Workshop Fellowship Foundation Degree Course in Applied Historic Building Conservation & Repair for the September 2025 cohort entry.
